Same-day Discharge After Elective Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: A Safe Strategy, but for Which Patients?

چکیده

La intervención coronaria percutánea (ICP), en sus distintas modalidades, es el procedimiento intervencionista que se realiza más frecuentemente en los paı́ses desarrollados. Determinados avances técnicos, que minimizan el perfil de los catéteres utilizados manteniendo al mismo tiempo altos grados de eficacia, han convertido la ICP en una práctica altamente segura, tanto a corto como a medio plazo. Esto permite que se pueda plantear el alta hospitalaria en el mismo dı́a del procedimiento para muchos de los pacientes que tradicionalmente precisaban ingreso hospitalario tras la revascularización. Este concepto de angioplastia ambulatoria (ICPa) ha sido el objeto de análisis en el estudio de Córdoba-Soriano et al. publicado en REVISTA ESPAÑOLA DE CARDIOLOGÍA. Se trata del primer estudio que recoge la experiencia y comunica datos de seguridad sobre la angioplastia ambulatoria en España incluyendo procedimientos realizados en 3 centros distintos con un importante volumen de angioplastias (más de 700 anuales por hospital). Constituye además uno de los registros de ICPa de mayor tamaño de los que existe constancia en la literatura hasta la fecha.
